We participate in Achema, the world forum for the process industries

This 2022 we have travelled to Germany: After participating in national fairs, we have travelled to Frankfurt to participate in the world’s largest event for the process industry, ACHEMA. The fair was held at the Frankfurt Messe from 22nd to 26th August. This fair was postponed in 2020 due to the global pandemic. The dates chosen for this year have fallen in the middle of August and, although they do not seem to be the best for the public of southern Europe, it has been a unique opportunity! Epidor Seals & Rubber Technology is proud to have participated in the world’s...

Silicone-filled seals

To tell you about silicone-filled seals, we will make an introduction to the complexity of sealing fluids. In the food, pharmaceutical and fine chemical industries among others, the management of their fluids, in itself, is not easy. And it gets more complicated when the fluids have a certain viscosity or contain particles in suspension. We refer to sludge, syrups, slurries, lyes, molasses and food fluids, among others. On this occasion, we are going to see how these fluids condition the design of the dynamic sealing seals to be installed in the rotary equipment involved in their...

Seals for hydraulics and pneumatics

Seals for hydraulics and pneumatics form the sealing solution for hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders. The main function of these components is to prevent leakage of the power transmission fluid in single-acting, telescopic or double-acting cylinders, among others. In our blog post we explain more about our gasket fabrication service and how a sealing system is configured. We manufacture seals for hydraulics and pneumatics More and more customers require customized sealing solutions. To this end, it is crucial to have the capability to manufacture seals in a wide variety of profiles and...

Low friction seals for O-ring housings

In some cases we find that the dynamic sealing of a hydraulic cylinder or other similar dynamic application is designed to mount O-rings or, at most, “X-ring” type seals. Sometimes these applications operate at pressures or speeds that are beyond the reasonable limit of this type of seals. The result is that these O-rings, which work as rod or piston seals, suffer premature wear that compromises their life and/or effectiveness. What could be the solution? Due to the higher working speed or the higher pressure or both, it would be best to replace the O-ring with a low friction...
