PS SEALS - Gylon - New Lip

PS SEALS the new Gylon lip in the food and pharmaceutical industry. These industries use applications that require high demands on seal materials, especially in relation to the seal lips to allow sealing of shafts in rotating machines.
Abrasive media such as sugar or dust are major challenges, for which there is currently no lasting solution. Not only do the media have to be reliably sealed during production and cleaning cycles, they also have to be the lip material of the lip seal must also comply with the regulations of the food and pharmaceutical sectors. Up to now, the lip of the PS SEAL restraints Garlock was made of a single material to be chosen from among the members of the Gylon family.  (Gylon Black, Gylon Blue, Gylon White, F, MS, KF). At present, the family has grown and has a new member who is Gylon. 3549.

PS SEALS - Gylon lip 3549 - features

  • Colors. - The first thing that stands out about Gylon 3549 are its colors, one side is brown and the other, white.
  • Abrasion resistance. - The new material has a longer service life compared to Gylon Blue, Gylon White and F (food-certified materials).
The trial conditions were:
  • Dimensions: 40 x 60 x 0.8 mm
  • Pressure: 3 bar
  • Speed: 4 m/s
  • Dry work
  • Highly abrasive medium
Its abrasion resistance is almost 3 times higher than that of Gylon® White and F, without prejudice to its almost universal chemical resistance.

PS SEALS - Gylon 3549 - Advantages of the new lip

  • Higher wear resistance.
  • EC 1935/2004, FDA and USP Class VI certifications.
  • Excellent chemical resistance.
  • Suitable for SIP/CIP cycles.
  • Exceptional dry running.
  • Low friction.
  • PS SEAL Solution® of proven solvency.
  • Wide operating temperature range (-90 ºC to +260 ºC).
  • Material manufactured by calendering, according to the Gylon process®.
  • Suitable for hygienic designs.
  • Suitable for high pressure (25 bar) and extreme vacuum.
  • Suitable for high peripheral speeds (40 m/s).

Where can the new Gylon lip be installed? 3549?

PS SEAL lip seals are mounted on agitators, pumps, mixers, screw compressors, metering units and dryers, among other equipment.
