Simmerring oil seal selector®
Simmerring oil seal selector® is a tool that allows you to choose the seal that best suits your search parameters.

Depending on the information you have, the tool allows you two types of searches:
- 1. If you already know the dimensions, lip material and seal type, then we suggest you use the Simmerring oil seal finder®. Direct search and problem solved!
- 2. On the other hand, if you doubt the specifications or want to be sure about a preliminary choice you may have made, then use the Simmerring assistant® that, for sure, will not leave you indifferent. And, of course, it is not necessary to have an advanced knowledge of seals for this...
Do you want to know in more detail what functionalities both tools have and how they work? In the next two sections we explain it with examples.
Simmering oil seal finder®
Direct search
To find the retainer you need, you must enter a series of data via three simple steps. In the first step, you are asked for basic information such as the diameter of the shaft (Ød1), the diameter of the housing (Ød2) and the width or height (b) of the seal.

At the bottom of each box, you will see the “Help” icon that will give you additional information. For example, if you click on the icon below the shaft diameter box, you will be informed of the installation and mounting conditions of the shaft (surface roughness, tolerances / fits, hardness).
By clicking on the CONTINUE button, we go to the second step where you will be asked about the seal lip material, type of seal and whether contamination is present. The Help icons inform you about the working temperatures of the materials, about the nomenclature of the seals and clarifications about the degree of contamination.
If we press the CONTINUE button again, we are presented with the results and the search is completed. The results appear in a table that is sorted in decreasing order of coincidence with the previously entered parameters.
In this table of results, the first column indicates the % Product Matching recommended; the second column shows a cut in section of the catch of interest; The third column indicates the item code of Freudenberg and that it is registered in the Epidor SRT database and the last column contains the link “VIEW PRODUCT” that leads to the Freudenberg technical portal.
This is the place where you will be able to download the technical data sheet of the retainer and its constituent material, as well as to consult additional information on the retainer such as unit weight, country of manufacture, an installation sketch and a summary of the dimensions.
Simmerring assistant®
Assisted search
Simmerring's checkpoint assistant® is extremely useful, especially if you ask yourself the questions: Which oil seal should I install? or Which oil seal do I need?
This tool recommends a certain retainer, from working conditions.

The first step is identical to that of the Simmerring® oil seal finder. However, it is in the second step where the differences appear and questions are asked about the working conditions of the retainer:
- - Speed (r.p.m)
- - Temperature
- - Pressure
- - Type of lubricant
- - Degree of contamination
When you click on the CONTINUE button, the following appear in a table recommended seals according to working conditions previously entered. The content of the table is the same as in the previous case, and the technical data sheet of the proposed seal and its material can be downloaded from the link shown in the last column.
Depending on the percentage of coincidence, the tool offers several technically equivalent alternatives. The choice of one option or another should be based on availability, stock, materials or other reasons.
Both the Simmerring oil seal finder® as the Simmerring assistant® are totally free and you can find them on our website. We hope you find them useful and that they make your daily work easier.
