Accessories and tools for gaskets and seals
Elements for assembly, disassembly and measurement of seals in industrial applications.
Accessories and tools
Joint pullers
Tool sets of 4 and 8 pieces with ergonomic handle, equipped with different high-strength metal appendages. They are designed to access and remove seals according to the accessibility of the housing.
Guide ring cutting shear
Tool for cutting guides made of phenolic resin reinforced with vegetable fibers, bronze loaded PTFE and other materials. Allows cuts with angles of 45°, 60° y 90° and is suitable for both right-handed and left-handed people.
Calibration of low friction piston seals
After mounting a low-friction seal on a piston, it is recommended to tighten it uniformly to correct deformations produced during installation. For this purpose, a calibration tape is used which, by means of a wedge and a wrench, achieves a uniform perimeter tightening of the seal.
Tool for hydraulic seals
For the assembly of stem seals or scrapers, which normally involve elastic deformation of the part in order to insert it into its housing. Once in place, the part recovers its original shape after removal of the tool, a process called elastic assembly or “kidney” type deformation.
Dilatation cone for PTFE rings
Device for stretching pre-heated PTFE rings (inner diameters between 35 mm and 250 mm, maximum height 7.5 mm). The ring is placed on the cone and, when the lever is actuated, the cone opens, stretching the part to facilitate its assembly.
Calibration tool
Designed for the assembly of low friction piston seals composed of a PTFE ring and an O-ring (diameters between 50 mm and 360 mm). This tool is used together with the expanding cone to expand the PTFE ring and facilitate its placement.
O-ring installer
Ideal tool when the housing is in deep or difficult to access areas. The O-ring is inserted protected inside the installer and, once the mounting area is reached, an internal mechanism releases the O-ring into its groove.
Retainer tool
Specific tool for removing and assembling oil seals without damaging the seal or the shaft surface:
Assembly: the bar is supported on the retainer; the weight slides down the bar until it hits the stop, transmitting the impact to move the retainer into its housing at various points of application.
Disassembly: similar to assembly but in the opposite direction, allowing progressive and controlled removal of the seal.
O-ring measuring cones
Fluorine methyl vinyl silicone rubber that maintains good cold flexibility and improves the chemical resistance of silicone (VMQ) to organochlorine and aromatic compounds. Very good resistance to weathering and vegetable oils.
Most common temperature range from -55 ºC to +225 ºC.
O-ring gauge
It is the only non-synthetic rubber obtained from a milky emulsion contained in the sap of the Hevea Brasiliensis tree. Its main application is as a vibration and noise insulator. It is an electrical insulator and withstands water, acids, bases and lyes. Incompatible with lubricants and weathering (biodegradable).
Most common temperature range from -60 ºC to +80 ºC.
O-ring measuring tape
This material is popularly known as Teflon. It is a thermoplastic (non-elastic) material with almost universal chemical resistance. It has a very low coefficient of friction and is practically non-stick. The problem of creep is largely solved by adding fillers such as graphite, coking carbon and glass fiber, among others, to the virgin PTFE.
Most common temperature range from -200 ºC to +260 ºC.
Frequently asked questions about accessories and tools for gaskets and seals
It will depend on the type of seal and the access to the housing. For O-rings, a specific installer is recommended to protect the part during insertion. For seals or collars, the seal assembly/disassembly tool ensures progressive removal without damaging the shaft or the component.
Specialized tools allow:
- Avoid damage to both the seal and the housing.
- Save time during assembly/disassembly.
- Ensure a more accurate and durable installation.
- Facilitate operations in areas of difficult access.
