Scrapers
Scrapers are parts that prevent dirt from entering the cylinder. Due to their constructive design, they remove or scrape the dirt deposited on the shaft, although they must allow the presence of a light film of lubricant during the shaft return.
The entry of dirt inside the cylinder would cause contamination of the lubricant and damage the rest of the sealing and guiding elements of the cylinder itself.
Configurations:
- There are flexible and rigid designs, as well as dual-function scrapers that combine the scraper itself and a secondary stem seal.
- Low friction scrapers combine a PTFE profile with fillers and an elastomer seal (usually NBR) to give the PTFE ring the required elasticity.
- Constructive designs of nitrile (NBR), polyurethane (AU) or PTFE with fillers.
