Blind Stoppers
High-quality plugs

The blanking plugs are static sealing elements designed for plugging and sealing cylindrical bores in rotating equipment housings.

What are blind plugs?

They are commonly used in gearboxes, gearboxes, gearboxes, gearboxes, gearboxes or other machines, especially during machining or maintenance.

They consist of a blind NBR (nitrile rubber) coated metal casing, This allows them to fit precisely into the housing and ensure effective sealing without moving parts.

Technical characteristics

  • Plug for cylindrical holes, composed of a blind elastomer-coated metal casing.
  • Manufactured in NBR (acrylonitrile butadiene rubber) with 75 Shore A hardness.
  • Suitable for pressures up to 0.05 MPa (0.5 bar).
  • Working temperatureTemperature range: from -40 ºC to +100 ºC.
  • Compatible with mineral oils as a means of work.
  • Available in diameters from 19 mm to 140 mm.
  • Static sealing by interference, without the need for threading or additional fastening.

Recommendations for use

For applications where a pressure greater than 0.5 bar is expected or where significant vibrations are present, it is recommended to install a circlip type clamping ring as an additional retention measure.

Advantages of blind plugs

  • Quick and easy solution for closing auxiliary orifices during design or maintenance.
  • Compatible with light metal or special machined housings.
  • Its rubber-to-metal design ensures secure installation without the need for adhesives or threading.
  • Manufactured by vulcanizing on metal plate, which provides a robust and durable joint.

Blind plug FAQ's

What kind of pressure can they withstand?
Up to 0.5 bar without additional clamping. For higher pressures, a retaining ring (circlip) is recommended.
Are they reusable?
In general, they are not designed for multiple assembly and disassembly cycles. To ensure sealing, it is recommended not to reuse after removal.
What materials are they made of?
The outer part is a metal casing and the lining is made of NBR (nitrile rubber), vulcanized to guarantee watertightness.
