- Hallite 56, a medium to heavy-duty double-acting seal, has proven for many years to be an effective and robust piston seal in a wide variety of applications. Designed for split pistons, it offers the sealing efficiency and low friction benefits of rubber/cloth and a specific proportion of rubber in contact with the cylinder surface.
- The center of the seal is rubber that is bonded to two rubberized fabric «U» section bases and is compressed by the housing for an effective low-pressure seal. When the pressure increases, the rubber energizes the ‘U’ section and deforms it in the casing, increasing the sealing area and improving the seal.
- Rubberized fabric is used to protect rubber because it has strength and durability combined with its ability to retain lubricant to help keep friction low and reduce wear.
- The proportions of the range have been determined to give satisfactory performance when used under the recommended operating conditions.
