The Hallite 847 wiper has been developed specifically for cylinders used in demanding and demanding off-highway applications in dirty environments, such as earthmoving excavators.
This double lip wiper incorporates a special venting feature to permanently relieve pressure build-up between the stem seal and wiper. This prevents pressure from blowing out the wiper without the need for an expensive vent hole in the bushing.
The flap on the wiper lip is another special feature that covers the stuffing box housing and prevents water/sludge buildup that is common with conventional wipers. The design minimizes oil transfer away from the ram to the rod and prevents fouling,
contamination and moisture enter the cylinder through the bushing.
The standard range is made of high performance Hythane® 371 polyurethane. The cleaner is also available in other polyurethane grades, if required, which could extend the operating conditions.
Hallite recommends using the 847 cleaner with Hallite's 652 or 621 rod seal, 506 bearing and 653 rod damper seal.
