- The Hallite 11 is a V-rod seal for medium duty applications that offers excellent performance and long service life even under difficult operating conditions such as pressure surges, vibration and some misalignment. The seal consists of a male and female adapter and 5 V-rings.
- The male adapter is usually made of polyacetal, but some of the larger sizes use rubberized fabric. It has grooves on one side to ensure equal pressure on the sealing edges of the V-ring.
- All sizes have three V-rings made of rubberized fabric because it has strength and durability and allows an oil film to lubricate the other parts of the seal. Two rubber V-rings are provided between the rubber coated fabric V-rings (up to and including 140 mm diameter) to aid sealing at low pressure.
- The female adapter uses a hard rubber cloth to support the V-rings and protect them from extrusion damage. At high pressure, the adapter lips act as a secondary seal.
- The proportions of the range have been determined to give satisfactory performance when used under the recommended operating conditions.
