- The Hallite 13 is a V-rod seal for heavy-duty applications that offers excellent performance and long service life even under difficult operating conditions such as pressure surges, vibration and some misalignment. The seal assembly consists of a male and female adapter and 5 V-rings.
- The male adapter is usually made of polyacetal, but some of the larger sizes use rubberized fabric. It has grooves on one side to ensure equal pressure on the sealing edges of the V-ring.
- All sizes have V-rings made of rubberized fabric because it has strength and durability and allows an oil film to lubricate the other parts of the seal. Some sizes are supplied with rubber V-rings between the rubberized fabric V-rings. The number and type of V-rings used are:

- The female adapter uses a hard rubber cloth to support the V-rings and protect them from extrusion damage. At high pressures, the adapter lips act as a secondary seal.
