- Hallite 683 is a single-lip asymmetrical U-ring rod seal designed to provide a dry sealing solution in light to medium duty applications. The heel of the seal is angled, with supporting ribs to reduce shaft contact and provide pressure relief, allowing for mating with double-lip wipers. The ribs help reduce friction by promoting localized lubrication, thereby reducing localized temperature at the sealing lips, which contributes to longer seal life.
- The seal is a single-lip modification of the well-established Hallite 605 profile and is ideal for applications requiring a dual-lip wiper, such as Hallite 839, Hallite 844, Hallite 846 or Hallite 864. Hallite 683 is also offered in other high quality Hythane® materials to better suit application needs.
