A few months ago we published <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/epidor-srt.com\/blog\/guias-cilindros-hidraulicos-neumaticos\"><span style=\"color: red;\">\u201cThe best guides on hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders\u201d.<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0In today's article, we are going to focus on the <\/span><b>hydraulic cylinders and their guiding elements<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, The guides found in hydraulic cylinders are usually subjected to much higher loads than those in pneumatic cylinders. The guides found in hydraulic cylinders are usually subjected to much higher loads than the guides for pneumatic cylinders, they receive loads that produce compressive and shear stresses, being especially important their compressive loads.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Faced with this problem, the solution is T4, a proprietary material that aims to solve this situation with applications under high loads.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Characteristics of T4, the material for hydraulic cylinder guides<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Composition. -<\/b>T4 is a material of\u00a0<b style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">phenolic resin reinforced with fabric<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This fabric is what provides the guide with a<\/span><b style=\"font-size: 1rem;\"> very high mechanical strength<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, This is much higher than in the usual ptfe (Teflon\u00ae) based guides.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6207\" src=\"https:\/\/epidor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/guias-de-cilindros-hidraulicos-epidor-SRT-2.png\" alt=\"epidor SRT 2 hydraulic cylinder guides\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Compressive strength. -<\/b>Allows a<b style=\"font-size: 1rem;\"> 7 to 8 times greater resistance <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to that provided by bronze-loaded ptfe.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Frictional capacity.<\/b>The<b style=\"font-size: 1rem;\"> coefficient of friction with lubrication of the T4 is 0.07<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> compared to ptfe with bronze (0.13). Often, guides are required in sizes that do not conform to the normalized standards, in which case semi-finished material is available that\u00a0<b style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">allows us to manufacture guides in diameters ranging from 25 mm to 210 mm.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As it is a material available for our own manufacturing, it allows the production of custom-made shaped guides to be an agile process.
