When do we recommend spiral wound gaskets?

Before starting with the content that concerns us - that which refers to the sectors and applications for which spiral wound gaskets are intended - it is interesting to define what materials are used and how these types of sealing gaskets are manufactured. This information will help us to understand their importance in certain contexts that require very demanding sealing systems. What is a spiral wound gasket? It is a part used to seal two metal surfaces together and prevent possible leaks in very demanding environments. The main characteristics of spiral wound gaskets are...

Seals according to DIN 3869

Profile seals in accordance with DIN 3869 provide axial static sealing of threaded joints. Threaded joints are used in pipe fittings, in valves and fittings, in plugs and sockets, for example. The tightening of the threaded joint causes the elastomer profile (easily deformable) to press inward, achieving the sealing between the surfaces to be sealed. The profile gasket is designed to prevent leakage of the fluid to the outside, thus avoiding a loss of pressure. In addition, its peculiar geometry avoids twisting during assembly and in its housing once it has been installed....

Guide to aseptic gasket codes and acronyms

The various abbreviations and codes behind industrial products are intended to facilitate communication. Thanks to these linguistic elements, we can find out whether a product in question complies with regulations, has been certified with a quality seal and/or guarantees the required safety or sustainability standards, for example. This is particularly important in the pharmaceutical, food and cosmetics sectors, all of which are particularly linked to a wide variety of regulations. For this reason, we thought it appropriate to prepare this brief guide in which...
